This December we are releasing two new impressive wines from our Proprietors Cellar.
First is our 2017 Hawkes Bay Merlot. Fully ripened and harvested only days before heavy rain plagued an otherwise superb dry 2017 growing season in the Hawkes Bay, we admit we only just got away with it! This exceptional small harvest of Merlot meant we were able to hand harvest, foot stomp and handle the wine in and out of barrel and into bottle with exceptional precision. Very limited quantities available and only at our cellar door.
Our second release from our Proprietors Cellar this December is surprisingly a 2018 Sauvignon Blanc parcel from the Awatere Valley in Marlborough we managed with exceptional precision from vineyard to winery. Vines were reduced to exceptional low yields and after careful hand harvesting, the grapes were pressed to tank, cooled, settled, fermented over a period of two weeks and finally allowed to rest on its lees for a period of 6 months before being simply filtered to bottle. The result is a world-class Sauvignon Blanc that separates itself from the rest. Available from our cellar door and will be on tasting.
